Levi the Great Dane ~ Fashion Model
This personal project was a collaboration between myself, my good friend Yolanda from fashion blog BNE Style, and model and blogger Aicha from The Fashion Heist, with clothing supplied by designer Jessica Tovey. I’d had the idea of using a dog in a fashion-style themed shoot and what better breed than a Great Dane! They say black goes with everything but for a little extra excitement I thought a strikingly marked black and white harlequin Great Dane would be the perfect accompaniment to anything fashion related.
A model call on my Facebook page quickly found many willing models – the choice was so very hard! But I ended up settling on Levi – a stunning young harlequin boy.
The location we decided on was in the city in Brisbane, at a place called the Commissariat Stores, a historic building dating back to the penal colony times of Brisbane. The first and second story were convict built and it now houses the Royal Historical Society of Queensland. We just loved the old stone walls and I think they make a great backdrop to the shoot. There was even an old bright red mail box from 1884, I had to include that in a few shots!
Yolanda is going to be blogging this session more from a fashion perspective so I’ll leave that up to the expert, but here are my favourite shots of Levi, strutting his stuff. Enjoy!
