This personal project was a collaboration between myself, my good friend Yolanda from fashion blog BNE Style, and model and blogger Aicha from The Fashion Heist, with clothing supplied by designer Jessica Tovey. I’d had the idea of using a dog in a fashion-style themed shoot and what better breed than a Great Dane!

Client Session ~ Nita & Turbo the Husky mixes in Brisbane

I first met Turbo on one of my regular visits to the Peninsula Animal Aid shelter to take photos of the dogs available for adoption. Though I didn’t get around to taking his picture that day, I remember seeing him through the bars of his run and thinking what a gorgeous looking dog he was and that surely, he’d have no trouble finding a new home.

Model Session ~ Bert the Dogue de Bordeaux at New Farm Park, Brisbane

As soon as I saw Bert’s application for my commercial model database, I just knew I had to meet him! It’s no secret that I love big dogs, and I’d never had the opportunity to photograph a Dogue de Bordeaux before. New Farm Park is a pretty challenging location so I like using it to test out potential commercial models.
