This was my first official session of the year here – meet Lulu! Only 5 months old, Lulu is a Dogue de Bordeaux cross and is Briana’s pride and joy. Her family has always had Mastiffs and when she saw Lulu’s litter she knew instantly Lulu was the one for her.
Read MoreFull of beans and with confidence to spare, Yagmur high-stepped towards the water. As his paws came into contact with the soft, waterlogged sand and it gave away slightly underfoot, I could see the change in his bearing as his forward movement wavered slightly.
Read MoreBonnie could quite possibly be the happiest dog I have ever photographed. She clearly loves life, her mum, the beach, and well… everything and everyone! Abandoned at eight years old and ending up at the RSPCA shelter in Alice Springs, Peta discovered her there and after a couple of visits, adopted her.
Read MorePepper the Westie is a popular kinda gal, in fact, if you mix in dog circles you might already be a member of her fan club! Pepper shot to fame a couple of years ago when she won the Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer Official Pet Ambassador (how’s that for a long title!) competition.
Read MoreWhen deciding on the breed of dog to add to my family years ago, I very nearly settled on a Greyhound. I met some at a Gold Coast pet event who were doing their bit to help promote Greyhound adoption through a rescue organisation called Friends of the Hound. I fell in love with their gentleness and sensitivity – these dogs have the most amazing soft temperaments and contrary to what some might assume, make excellent pets.
Read MoreYou’d never guess that Grace, Albert and Ruby are all well into their senior years – they have so much poise and not a smidgen of their age shows! Though Grace and Albert have been blessed with a life of luxury, Ruby was rescued from a puppy farm just a few years ago. I had a fantastic afternoon in the company of these lovely dogs (and their even lovelier mummy Kimbra).
Read MoreStaffies would have to be one of the most popular breeds in Australia, so as you’d expect I’ve photographed quite a few of them. Bella would have to be one of the most active though. This girl was ALL about her ball – or whatever toy you have on hand to throw for her, including her colour-coordinated purple Kong!
Read MoreAnother consolation prize winner from my 4000 fans promotion on Facebook in late 2013, Mikayla decided to use her $100 credit voucher towards a Bare Bones session for her special boy Diesel. Here’s what she had to say about Diesel in the questionnaire: “Diesel was one of the last puppies left in his litter and no one wanted him because he did not have a tail. When we first saw him we loved him and knew he had to be ours.”
Read MoreThe brown dog snoozes on the couch. He lives a life of luxury now he’s retired, a far cry from the adventure and excitement of his past as he travelled Australia with his best mate. Today though, fresh adventures await.
Read MoreThe littlest Border Collie puppy huddled in the corner, making herself as small as possible to avoid notice by her litter mates. Why oh why did they pick on her so much? Suddenly, she was plucked from the enclosure and sensing her newfound safety, immediately snuggled into the loving arms of her new mum and dad.
Read MoreGolden Retrievers rank very highly on my list of favourite breeds. They always have the loveliest temperaments, with that perfect mix of fun, goofy and when they get older; chilled and wise. At eight months old on the day of our shoot, Bam Bam was at that awkward stage between puppy and adult – just starting to look like an adult but still with a lot of puppy silliness!
Read MoreAmber first contacted me back in 2010 to enquire about a photo session in Sydney. Three years later, everything finally came together when I visited Canberra. Amber and her husband Daniel along with their two Toy Poodles Cocoa and Bella trundled into the car and made the trek for their session.
Read MoreFrom the moment I read Archie’s questionnaire results, I knew he was going to be heaps of fun to photograph! This boy has done doggy dancing, obedience and rally-o and is a super stunning three year old Shetland Sheepdog.
Read MoreMy session with Blackie and Yoyo would have to be one of my most sunshine-filled yet! Right from the start we had some gorgeous warm afternoon light to play with.
Read MoreStacey was lucky enough to receive a gift certificate from her partner Brad for her birthday. He must be very in tune with exactly what she values in her life, as Stacey really loves her two dogs Mia and Ollie and it was the perfect gift for her!
Read MoreAt the time of our shoot back in August 2013, Logan the German Shepherd cross was just six months old. Based on how BIG his legs and paws were at that age, I predicted he was going to be a big boy. Having seen him since I certainly wasn’t wrong!
