If you’ve been following me for a while you might remember we used to have a little Jack Russell cross called Archie, who we lost to a tick a couple of years ago. He and Luna were best buddies and though she gets along fine with Araya the cat, who we adopted last year from Pets Without Partners, we’ve been wanting to add another dog to complete our furry family for a while now. I must admit I fell in love with the Australian Shepherd breed after photographing a few of them – I love their energy and sense of fun and adventure – their trainability and just how gorgeous they are in general!

Bare Bones Session ~ Kira the Siberian Husky Puppy

You may remember the rather epic shoot I had with a pack of four stunning Siberian Huskies – Amber, Alaska, Dakoda and Kiah. Just a few weeks after our shoot in the pine forest, I received the news that beautiful Kiah had unexpectedly passed away after returning from a trip down to the snow. As the much loved original member of the pack, I know that she must have left a huge hole in the household.

Downy soft hair, needle sharp teeth and the softest ears ever can only mean one thing…. pupppyyyy!!! After Mollie’s Bare Bones Session (the perfect length for puppies), I was lucky enough to get cuddles and nearly bundled her into my car and took off with her! Such a sweetie but with lots of spunk too, the perfect puppy package.
