You’d never guess that Grace, Albert and Ruby are all well into their senior years – they have so much poise and not a smidgen of their age shows! Though Grace and Albert have been blessed with a life of luxury, Ruby was rescued from a puppy farm just a few years ago. Last year I attended the brand new Logan Million Paws Walk (see the photos here) which was heaps of fun, but when this year’s walk rolled around I had the opportunity to have a stall at my local Samford walk, so I jumped at the chance! Samford is just 5 minutes down the road from me so this was very convenient and gave me the opportunity to meet lots of locals and their dogs.

Staffies would have to be one of the most popular breeds in Australia, so as you’d expect I’ve photographed quite a few of them. Bella would have to be one of the most active though. This girl was ALL about her ball – or whatever toy you have on hand to throw for her, including her colour-coordinated purple Kong!

Pappy is a super adorable Corgi cross, much loved by his mum Louise. We met at a lovely park in south east Brisbane with lots of space for Pappy to explore – he spent much time sniffing around! I was still rubbing sleep from my eyes when I turned up at New Farm Park at 5am to be greeted by this eternally happy face! Butt wiggling, Phoenix immediate stuck her face in my bag of goodies and proceeded to check out the treats and toys within while leaning heavily against me and revelling in pats and scratches. I first met Turbo on one of my regular visits to the Peninsula Animal Aid shelter to take photos of the dogs available for adoption. Though I didn’t get around to taking his picture that day, I remember seeing him through the bars of his run and thinking what a gorgeous looking dog he was and that surely, he’d have no trouble finding a new home.

At eight months old on the day of our shoot, Bam Bam was at that awkward stage between puppy and adult – just starting to look like an adult but still with a lot of puppy silliness!
